The Fall 2021 Acting 101 Class meets for six sessions on:
Saturdays, 8/21/21 - 9/24/21, 1:00-3:30 p.m.
In this class, students will explore character, rehearse, and present scenes via fundamental acting techniques based on the work of Stanislavski, as well as other techniques and tools. The class meets for six weeks each session and is expected to be an ongoing class for the beginning to intermediate actor. The class is leveled to the learners so the students may be a mix of experience levels. More experienced actors will be challenged at a higher level than newer actors. No previous acting experience or training is required.
Each week, actors will work with a different tool, though certain tools may spread out over more classes as the needs of the students require. Each tool will be explored via in-class exercises, lecture, discussion, and scene work, and the 6-week session will culminate in a mini-showcase of the in-class scenes and actor pairings.
Students should arrive at each class dressed to move (ie, workout or dance wear) and bring a notebook and a pencil to every class.
